Carlos Cura leads IN2 Engineering’s operations in mainland Europe and established the firm’s Berlin office in 2022, creating the company’s first base in continental Europe.
Since then he has successfully grown the office in terms of staff, client portfolio and turnover while expanding IN2’s sustainability services across the wider business.
Carlos specialises in sustainability consulting, energy efficiency and the integration of low-carbon strategies within building design. His work spans complex MEP projects, sustainability certification and the development of long-term environmental strategies for clients across multiple sectors.
He studied Civil and Architectural Engineering at the University of Bath before completing a Master’s degree in Energy Efficiency and Power Networks at the Université de Liège in Belgium. His career began with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy where he developed expertise as a sustainability and energy efficiency consultant before progressing into MEP consultancy roles delivering design and site supervision on complex projects.
In addition to leading IN2’s Berlin office, Carlos is also involved in the company’s expansion into Spain and is helping establish IN2’s Madrid presence as part of the firm’s wider European growth strategy.
Outside of work Carlos is passionate about sport and competes in running, CrossFit and Hyrox events. He also enjoys hiking and reading science and technology literature.
