About Keith Flood - Associate Director - Healthcare at IN2 Engineering

Keith Flood is an Associate Director at IN2 Engineering based in the firm’s Athlone office, specialising in the design and delivery of high-performance mechanical and building services systems.

Since joining IN2 in 2016, Keith has progressed from Project Mechanical Engineer to Associate Director, developing extensive experience delivering complex projects across the healthcare, aviation, cultural and education sectors.

Keith has played a key role in the successful delivery of several high-profile developments, including the Hold Baggage System upgrades at Dublin Airport Terminals 1 and 2, the redevelopment of Kylemore Abbey, the WeWork Charlemont fitout in Dublin and the new ward development at Portiuncula University Hospital. His work also includes numerous Primary Care Centres and Community Nursing Units delivered through Public Private Partnership frameworks for the Health Service Executive.

Keith has particular expertise in refurbishment and infrastructure upgrade projects, where the integration of modern building services within existing structures requires careful technical planning. This experience has proven especially valuable on heritage and conservation projects where engineering solutions must balance performance, comfort and energy efficiency while protecting historically significant buildings.

Several of the projects Keith has contributed to have received national recognition. The refurbishment of the Cathedral of the Assumption in Tuam received Conservation Project of the Year at the Irish Construction Industry Awards, while the Dublin Airport Hold Baggage System upgrade programme was recognised as Engineering Project of the Year at the Irish Construction Industry Awards 2024. The new Benedictine Monastery at Kylemore Abbey was also recognised nationally, receiving the RIAI Public Choice Award and the RIAI Housing Award in 2025.

Keith holds a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Technological University Dublin, graduating with First-Class Honours, and continues to contribute to IN2’s culture of mentoring and professional development across the practice.
