    About the project

The Dublin Airport Terminal 1 Extension project consisted of the strip-out and partial modification of areas within the 6-bay section of Terminal 1 and the new build construction of further Airside accommodation for out-going passengers.

IN2’s initial responsibilities commenced in April 2007 and included the development of the client’s brief into a workable economic design, which offered the client simple low cost options for systems such as passive smoke extract, and maintenance friendly lighting solutions.

A project such as Dublin Airport Terminal has inherent complexities including the coordination of Specialist Airport Information Systems, the complex series of tie-ins to existing Airport systems. IN2 were responsible for ensuring the airport services remained live throughout the phased construction process. IN2 were also responsible for overseeing connections into the MTHW Heat Distribution Network from DAA Central Energy Centre.

The project involved the design of a complex IT system to support the numerous airport communication services; all of which were integrated into the airport central systems without disruption.
