About the project
Since 2024, IN2 has delivered over 60 BREEAM In-Use / Bestand projects for its clients across Germany. Working alongside large investment organisations, we have been able to work alongside our clients to deliver the certification with quick turnaround period and professional advice.
BREEAM Bestand is a certification scheme developed for assessing the environmental performance of existing buildings in Germany. Based on the broader BREEAM framework created by the Building Research Establishment, BREEAM Bestand focuses on the operational phase of buildings rather than new construction.
The assessment evaluates factors such as energy and water consumption, building management, maintenance practices, indoor environmental quality, resource use, and overall sustainability performance. It is typically applied to existing commercial assets to benchmark and improve their environmental standards, support ESG strategies, and demonstrate sustainable building management to investors and occupiers.
By identifying opportunities to optimise building operation and reduce environmental impact, BREEAM Bestand helps asset owners enhance the long-term value, efficiency, and resilience of their properties.
