    About the project

The 3-star Metro Hotel Dublin Airport offers all the convenience of an airport hotel and easy access to all Dublin city centre attractions, Croke Park and Aviva Stadium. The building comprises 30 apartments and 88 hotel rooms, from the basement to level 15. The hotel building provides secure underground parking and is located just off the M50 and minutes from Dublin Airport.

IN2 Engineering was initially appointed to carry out a Due Diligence assessing the condition of the services following fire damage in 2018.

    IN2's Services included:
    Heating Services
    Hot Water Services
    Cold Water Services
    Ventilation
    Electrical Distribution

Following the Due Diligence, IN2 was responsible for design the mechanical and electrical systems to reinstate and upgrade the existing finishes of the Metro Hotel and Apartment buildings. The construction project took 38 weeks with a completion date of August 2019. The works involved the removal and replacement of the existing curtain walling, screens and pinch windows to the apartment building. Refurbishment and fit-outs of the 10 No. floors of apartments was included, as well as the replacement of the lifts.

As the hotel suffered significant water damage caused by the fire in 2018, 30 No. Hotel rooms needed full refurbishment and fit-out and upgrades were required for the remaining hotel rooms. The lower level of the hotel included full refurbishment and reconstruction of the basement facilities. Significant fireproof upgrade works to all areas of the apartment and hotel was also carried out.
