Colt Powergate Data Centre

Supporting a major global technology client, IN2 led the delivery of a new hyperscale facility at Colt Powergate Data Centre, providing specialist technical and commissioning leadership throughout the project lifecycle. Our role encompassed design coordination, procurement and contract administration, ensuring the project’s demanding technical, commercial and programme requirements were effectively managed.

Developed on a greenfield site, the project presented several challenges, including a limited local contractor market, supply-chain constraints and an accelerated delivery programme. IN2 addressed these through a global procurement strategy and fast-track construction methods, including off-site fabrication, which reduced onsite installation requirements and associated project risks.

Close collaboration between the architectural, MEP design and contractor teams supported the effective coordination of the facility’s N+1 resilient infrastructure. Rigorous factory testing and commissioning processes helped maintain quality, verify system performance and minimise programme risk before installation.

The facility incorporated free-cooling technologies that harnesses local ambient conditions to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs. Through strong project leadership and an integrated delivery approach, the data centre was completed on time, within budget and to a high standard, creating a proven model for future hyperscale developments.
