M&E Design

Feasibility Studies

Our feasibility studies provide early-stage technical insight to support informed decision-making.

We assess design options, constraints, energy performance, servicing strategies and infrastructure requirements, helping clients understand risk, opportunity and viability before committing to detailed design

Changes to servicing strategy or infrastructure approach at RIBA Stage 3 or later typically cost five to ten times more than the same change made at concept stage. IN2 feasibility work is designed to surface those decisions while they are still cheap to make.

Feasibility studies reduce uncertainty, highlight opportunities and help avoid costly redesign later in the project.

IN2 undertakes feasibility studies that assess servicing options, infrastructure capacity, energy strategies and technical constraints. This early input supports informed decisions on cost, risk, programme and performance.

A feasibility study is most valuable before you commit to a site, before RIBA Stage 1, when you are considering a change of use, or when you have inherited a building with unknown infrastructure. Getting M&E input at this point costs a fraction of what late-stage redesign costs.

Our feasibility study services can include:

  • Options appraisal report: A structured comparison of servicing approaches, with relative cost, risk and programme implications for each, so you can make an informed decision before committing to detailed design.
  • Infrastructure capacity assessment: A clear view of what the site can support today and what upgrades are needed to meet your proposed load or use.
  • High-level energy strategy: Early identification of the most viable low-carbon and energy-efficient approaches for your project, aligned with planning and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk register: A structured summary of the technical, cost and programme risks specific to your site and proposed use.

It all starts with a plan. Contact us today to chat about your next project.
